by stayintobago @ 2008-04-15 - 02:19:08

Every relationship can benefit from spontaneity and refreshing new experiences to share with your partner. This will better the relationship, draw the couple together and often allow partners access to other aspects of the spouses personalities. At any point in a relationship, there will be an invitation for a ‘romantic getaway’. These short holidays in the beginning of a relationship brings the couple closer as they are distanced from their family and friends and give them an idea of what life with that person would be like. Trinidad was governed by Spanish rulers until 1797, while Tobago switched hands between the French, Dutch and Courlanders and eventually ended up with the British in 1814. In 1888, the British incorporated both islands of Trinidad and Tobago into a single crown colony. In 1962, these islands gained independence from British rule and finally became a republic in 1976 and in 1834, the landmark slavery-abolishing act was established. The years between 1845 and 1917 saw many workers coming from other parts of the world to these islands to work in sugarcane plantations. Mouth watering food

by stayintobago @ 2008-04-01 - 04:36:33

Trinidad and Tobago have a mouth watering cuisine which is a nice blend of American Indian, European, African, Creole, Indian, Chinese and Lebanese foods. Their main meals are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of their favorite breakfast dishes are sada roti which is a type of Indian bread with bodi made of cowpeas, fried potato, roasted eggplant, tomato choka which they eat with the rotis and different types of bread and fish. They also have black pudding with home-made coconut bread, fish fritters and fish cakes with lots of onions and tomatoes.

Lunch is a heavier affair with curry chicken and roti which is the national dish. This too has Indian origins along with crab curry, shrimp curry, duck curry and potato curry. These curries are served with different types of baked breads. Callaloo, a creamy spicy side dish made of dasheen leaves, ochro or okra, crab, thyme, coconut milk and shado beni is of African origin and is a big favorite. The Trinidad and Tobago cuisine is a reflection of the Trinidad and Tobago culture and the Trinidad and Tobago people who are a blend of different races and cultures. The Trinidad and Tobago weather is always warm and it is a great place to visit all year around.

February is when the carnival happens and the island is one huge party at that time of the year. There are many great water sports for the adventurous types like snorkeling, deep sea diving, scuba diving, shark diving and wreck diving. If you are planning to make a trip to Trinidad and Tobago you should book your accommodation in advance. A great place to stay is the Half Moon Blue Resorts which is situated close to the historical Fort George in Tobago Island. Vacationers are provided with colonial style luxurious suites, plus swimming pool.
