by stayintobago @ 2008-04-08 - 10:20:56

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago consists of not just the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, but also an archipelago of twenty one other smaller islands. This Caribbean holiday getaway is steeped with a rich cultural diversity that stems from the many ethnicities that call these islands home. The culture of Trinidad and Tobago reflects the influence of African, Indian, French, Amerindian, Chinese, British, Spanish, Portuguese, Venezuelan, and Caribbean culture. This heritage is constructively used in their culture, from food and festivals, to music and art. ‘Other indigenous art forms in Trinidad and Tobago include soca (a derivate of calypso), Parang (Venezuelan-influenced Christmas music), chutney, Rapso music, which was made famous by Cheryl Byron and pichakaree (musical forms which blend the music of the Caribbean and India) and the famous Limbo dance’ –wikipedia.org

Trinidad and Tobago are also popular destinations for sailing as they lie just south of the Hurricane belt. Between August and October is the best time to visit. You can also enjoy other water activities like diving, water tours or simply a refreshing dip in the ocean. A horse racing course and a first class golf course, sumptuous meals and exotic wildlife are some of the other attractions of the islands.

Half Moon Blue resorts in the island of Tobago is the perfect place to unwind after fun filled days of exploring the island. With spectacular views of the Bacolet Bay, the endless horizon, and even the edge of Trinidad across the ocean, their spacious suites will make you want to just stay in and never venture out!
